Happy New Year! – oh yes, another giveaway!

Have you made any New Year’s Resolutions this year?

How about to make more money? Our fabulous friend Joyce Smith can help you do just that! She is generously giving away a copy of her amazing {How to Sell} guide to one lucky Two Photogs reader!
If you do online sales, I am telling you that this is guide is a must have. Joyce is an inspiration because in a photography world where you can be harassed for not in-person proofing, she stands tall and proud saying that online sales CAN work. She has the high sales to prove it too!

The Wordsmith site is rockin’ because she has so many guides that are actually USEFUL. Her {What to Write} guide is my personal favorite, and I consider myself to be a pretty good writer. It’s got every email that you would ever think to send to a client. Just make sure you change the wording a bit to reflect “you” because I actually had a client wonder if I was affiliated with another photographer here in Calgary because we sent the exact same email. Um, whoops! LOL!

All you need to do to win this awesome prize is leave a comment below with your New Year’s Resolution. Mine? I have vowed to quit Cafe World on Facebook for good. No more time wasters! (or at least not that one, lol) I have to wonder why I am cooking meals for virtual people when I don’t even cook for my real people?

January 4, 2010 - 8:34 am Sarah Goblot - Exercise! I have a weak hip and if i don't exercise I suffer really bad pain. I still don't exercise enough. This year...must change that.

January 4, 2010 - 9:28 am Kristen - oh WOW. i have too many New Years resolutions... either this means i am highly motivated or means i have lots i need to improve on. ...it's the later i think. lol. i'm ok with that. ;) ...so here is the most important - to find a balance between my at home work life and my family life. (i spend too many hours in front of my MAC instead or having tea parties and movie nights!)

January 4, 2010 - 10:08 am rebekah - i have many goals for the year but my main new years resolution is to keep life simple. it's too easy to get caught up in the rush, the go-go-go, balancing everything. i've recently re-discovered the joy in a slower, simpler life and while i'll still have just as many things to juggle, i want to do it in a happy, fulfilling, quieter way rather than a "must do this", deadline-infested way. :)

January 4, 2010 - 10:50 am Erin - Ohh. My goal is to better manage my time so I can spend less time on the computer and more time with those I love.

January 4, 2010 - 10:51 am Laura Brophy - I've written a short treatise that is my New Year's commitments to myself, something of a handbook for living the way I want to live in the new year. One of the very first "resolutions" is to SAY THANK YOU MORE AND BETTER. The year ended for me with a few situations of clients and friends taking for granted some efforts on my part that were big and costly. I've decided that rather than let that get me down or stop me from being generous, I am going to commit myself to letting people know when I appreciate their efforts, generosity, and gifts. Direct, clear, quick, and heartfelt THANKS communication.

January 4, 2010 - 10:56 am Natasha Whiteley - I prefer goals rather than resolutions, the word resolution gives me shivers.. One of my goals for this year.. is to be more ME! stop trying to please everyone, not worry about what everyone else will think, yes I'm a little nutty and a lot crazy... but that's me.. and I like ME!

January 4, 2010 - 11:05 am PamN - I've resolved to lose 10 lbs, do my personal photo project 365, exercise more, AND take my business to the next level!

January 4, 2010 - 11:16 am Allison - Learn more... about me, about my family, about all the happiness life has to offer and about photography!

January 4, 2010 - 11:32 am Rachel Boekel - Time Management. It's going to be awesome to have that figured out. Happy New Year! R.

January 4, 2010 - 12:57 pm Danielle - My Resolution is to get out of the habit of always doing what's 'safe' and take things to new levels by taking risks. If I can do this, I know that everything in my photography career will improve. :-)

January 5, 2010 - 12:00 pm Jen - I am currently reading the book, "Half The Sky" and my new years resolution is to in the next year do my part to help the cause of the women I am reading about.

January 5, 2010 - 12:48 pm Jen - In case you're wondering, "Half The Sky" is about women & children who are trafficked into being sex slaves, & held against their will.

January 5, 2010 - 2:21 pm stephanie - learning to control how i use my time. i guess you could call that time management, but somehow that make it seem hard. so i will become a master of time.

January 5, 2010 - 9:26 pm Gina - To be a better person to strangers, sometimes we get lost in our day to day and forget how much a smile can mean, we stand in line at starbucks waiting for our coffee not making eye contact or acknowledging anyone around us, give a breif thanks once we have our drink and walk out/drive thru...a smile with bright eyes a genuine smile can mean so much to someone, anyone and number two to let my daughter be little..sometimes I find myself pushing her to be more grown up, dress a certain way..this year she will wear her princess dress to the bank, grocery store, school where ever she wants as much as she wants.

January 6, 2010 - 9:54 am Jenn Galloway - Cooking real food for my family, not wasting money eating out so much!

January 6, 2010 - 10:20 am Stacey - My New Year's resolution is to watch less tv. I just had a baby and while I was pregnant I watched too much tv. I deleted all my dvr recorders and there were a lot! Now I have more time to learn:)

January 7, 2010 - 7:32 am Tammy Hunt - My New Year's resolution was to take my love for photography to a new level and really launch a business to help offset our family income(my husband's company just closed)So having said that, the book would be perfect timing for me:)Thanks for the new blog site, love it and will frequent it!

January 18, 2010 - 12:40 pm cait - mine is to work my bum off this year and to have a super successful first year as a full time photographer!! :)
