There’s a little bit about us in the bio area at the top of the blog, but this post is for us to explain a bit about the blog, what we want to do with it, and what we have in the works for 2010.
We are both baby and child photographers in Calgary, AB. We are super close friends, besides being total opposites in almost everything. Canon/Nikon, Coke/Pepsi, Betty/Veronica.
What we do agree about is our passion for photography, and our love of our businesses. We wanted to start this blog to be able to use it as a way to reach out to the many photographers we get emails from, and a way for us to stretch creatively. We also wanted a place where we could just talk about photography and products and what is interesting to us.
For the next couple of months, it’s going to be a work in progress. We’re going to be figuring stuff out, and we want to hear from YOU! What you like, dislike, and what you’d like to see. We plan on having photo assignments that will be quick and fun and challenging for all of us. We’ll also be featuring our two styles and how differently two photographers can make images from the same subject matter. We’d love to answer any of your questions about lighting, camera settings, creativity, etc, so please send in your photography questions! What we *won’t* be talking about on the blog is business. or at least not a lot of biz stuff.
Which brings us to January, 2010. we’ll be launching our online mentoring! We are both super excited about this, it’s been almost a year in the works! The mentoring will be small, and tailored directly to what YOU want to know. No question is off-limits, and we have a ton of great content planned. We’ve hired a professional videographer to help us make some teaching videos that will showcase posing, lighting, and a look into what real sessions with both of us look like. For the rest of the mentoring, we can cover anything and everything from finding your own style, creativity, branding, marketing, lighting, photoshop, pricing, fusion slideshows, mini-sessions, boudoir, etc. More information about content, pricing and registration will be posted on this blog in the next couple of months, so stay tuned!
In a final way to get to know both of us, because some of you may be coming here only knowing about one of us, (or neither of us, lol) the next few images are some of our maternity, newborn and child work. Just some quick samples so you all can get to know us better. Enjoy!
